has announced highlights of land offerings at The Cormorant at 55 South in
Puerto Williams, Chile.
Scheduled to open in January 2026, the hotel will offer
guests immersive
experiences in the heart of the Fuegian Archipelago allowing them to explore
deeper into the world’s most remote and ecologically rich destinations before
their journey to Antarctica.

historical heritage of Puerto Williams, all while enjoying the elevated comfort
and service that is synonymous with Silversea.”
Guests can choose from a variety of guided excursions and
activities tailored to different activity levels that include:
Unique Birdwatching and Wildlife Opportunities- a haven for birdwatching and ecological discovery in an area home to a
remarkable array of bird species, including the cormorant, dolphin gull, upland
goose, and the yellow-billed pintail. Native horses and guanacos along with
marine life such as dolphins, whales, and seals can be seen in Beagle Channel.Kayaking In the Waters Charted by Legendary
Explorers- the Beagle Channel separating Chile from Argentina, lies just
north of The Cormorant at 55 South, along with a scenic inlet running parallel.
Guided kayaking allows guests to explore unique waterways once charted by
legendary explorers.Hiking In Remote Tierra Del Fuego- Puerto
Williams is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes of the Dientes de Navarino
mountain range and Cape Horn and part of the subpolar climate region with pristine
wilderness, fjords, and unique biodiversity. The Martial Mountains are home to
guanacos, foxes, and condors. Available hikes include various trails along
Parque Municipal Ukika and that pass through Magellanic subpolar forest.
Beginning in the 2025-2026 season, Silversea guests will experience
a new private charter flight with upgraded amenities from Santiago to Puerto
Williams.
Once at the hotel, guests will enjoy personalized service and warm
hospitality. Innovative six-day Antarctica Fly Cruise Expeditions fly over the
Drake Passage, providing a shorter option without compromising time spent in
the destination.
