Universal Studios is cranking up the scare factor for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights with the debut of a brand-new haunted house themed around one of horror’s most infamous slashers. The completely original attraction, called “Jason Universe”, will bring the legend of Jason Voorhees to life starting this fall.
Fittingly announced on Friday the 13th, the fresh haunted house will open at Universal Orlando Resort on August 29, 2025, and at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 4, 2025, People reported. The attraction takes guests deep into the eerie backstory of Jason, with the setting centered around a haunted summer camp—the birthplace of his bloody legacy.
Visitors will venture through chilling scenes, including rotting cabins, shadowy woods and the creaky remains of a once-bustling lodge. The walkthrough is designed to immerse horror fans in Jason’s world, with bone-chilling recreations of some of his most gruesome kills. Whether you’re a die-hard Friday the 13th fan or just love a good scare, this haunted house promises to be one of the highlights of the 2025 Halloween season.
Halloween Horror Nights is a major event for both Universal parks, and the 2025 lineup is shaping up to be bigger than ever. In Orlando, the event will run for 48 nights, through November 2, and will feature 10 all-new haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment and more.
Guests can choose from single-night tickets or enhance their visit with extras like the Express Pass, R.I.P. Tour or the behind-the-scenes Unmasking the Horror Tour.
Vacation packages are also available for those looking to turn their visit into a full-fledged getaway. Bundles include hotel stays, event tickets and daytime admission to Universal theme parks—including the highly anticipated Universal Epic Universe—plus exclusive perks and savings of up to $200, depending on length of stay.
Out west, Universal Studios Hollywood will host Halloween Horror Nights from September 4 to November 2. Visitors can pick from a variety of ticket options, such as General Admission, Express, After 2 P.M. Day/Night tickets and Early Access passes, which allow entry to select haunted houses as early as 5:30 p.m. For fans who plan to attend multiple nights, the Frequent Fear Pass and Ultimate Fear Pass offer great value, while the R.I.P. Tour provides a VIP guided experience.
To celebrate the introduction of this new haunted house, Universal is also releasing limited-edition “Jason Universe” merchandise. Items include themed T-shirts, a collectible camping mug and the first piece of a puzzle series that will eventually form a mural representing the full 2025 haunted house lineup.
