The U.S. Travel Association is joining forces with The Great American Road Trip, a nationwide storytelling initiative that was launched to celebrate the people, places and innovations that shape the United States.
The association will lend its support in working to inspire Americans to explore the United States ahead of its 250th birthday.
The goal of the joint effort is to shine a spotlight on “the destinations, communities and travel experiences that power the nation’s economy and connect Americans to one another.”
In particular, U.S. Travel will help to amplify “Great American Road Trip events in cities across the country, highlighting the importance of travel to local communities, elevating the industry’s contribution to America’s story, and reinforcing how travel strengthens cultural understanding and drives economic growth,” the association said.
“Travel reveals who we are as a nation, and there’s no better time to tell the story than on the road to our 250th birthday. The Great American Road Trip channels the energy and adventure that define this country,” Geoff Freeman, president and CEO, U.S. Travel Association, said in a statement.
“U.S. Travel is proud to rally Americans to get out there, power local economies and reconnect with the people and places that make this nation remarkable,” Freeman added.
The partnership also reflects The Great American Road Trip’s mission to bring the nation together to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial through exploration, shared experience and pride in America’s journey over the last 250 years.
